Very sorry to say…
The Angmering School has forbidden Archery in the Sportshall because it could damage the Floor Surface. We are being told there is no possibility of this being relaxed in the forseeable future.
Even though we used the hall for Club Shooting and Tournaments from 1986 to 2019 without a single instance of floor damage, during which time the floor surface was replaced three times due to wear from feet.
We know our Tournaments were very popular among Sussex Archers, with frequent visitors from Surrey, Hants and Kent. For large numbers of novices our shoots were their first tournament experience. We all regret the loss of this valuable resource for whole generations of Archers.
