The British Archer Winter Competition is a Postal League which runs from November to March each year.
There are leagues for both Recurve and Compound, and for both indoor (Portsmouth rounds) and outdoor (Frostbite rounds).
This is a standard Portsmouth – 5 dozen arrows at 20 yards on 60 cm face scoring 10, 9, 8 etc. Only tens score as golds. with 6 sighters. Only the inner ten ring scores 10 for the compounds.
Each league is divided into divisions of six teams. Each team shoots one match a month throughout the Winter season, thereby shooting against each team in turn in the same division.
All members shooting the league match must shoot on the same, over the same period of time, at the same venue.
After the shoot, the top three scores will form the ‘A’ team, and those with the next three highest scores the ‘B’ team etc. This means that the A. B. C. etc. teams can vary from month to month.) All shoot as Archers i.e. no allowance for ladies nor juniors.
