We are based at the Angmering School, Station Road, Angmering, BN16 4HH. Click here for location details. We shoot Friday evenings (7pm – 9pm) and Saturday and Sunday mornings (10am – 1pm) every week. In the Summer from May to September we can normally shoot outside on Wednesday evenings. Sunday mornings are free for Arundown members, other times may involve an additional cost of £1 to £3, but the Treasurer has waived these payments in recent years, so for the moment they are all free to club members.
Indoor Season
Our Indoor Season is from October to April, we shoot at a distance of 20 yards / 18 metres at small targets, in the Angmering School Performance Hall. The hall can accomodate up to 32 archers, or for our two Tournaments we use the Sports Hall (see top of page) which takes up to 44 archers per session. When we have access to the Sports Hall we can occasionally shoot 25 metres.
When the weather permits some of us will shoot outside, and some suitable wintry events are usually laid-on around Christmas and New Year.
Outdoor Season
Our Outdoor Season is from May until the end of September although we can use the hall on Friday evenings during the summer if the weather is bad. Once we are outside, the shooting distances increase up to as much as 70 metres / 80 yards for Ladies and 90 metres / 100 yards for Gents, sometimes we will shoot at almost double these distances! We can use a larger area of the school field to shoot ‘Clout’ rounds at distances up to 180 yards.
During the Summer Outdoor Season, members can also shoot on some evenings and on Saturdays, (at least three members together, and there is a £1 charge for each to be paid to the school for shooting on non-Club days, currently paid out of club funds).
Members have free use of the club facilities nearly every Sunday of the year.
